NINE INCH NAILS + THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN: High-Quality Performance Footage Available

March 5, 2009

Official NIN.com footage of guitarist Ben Weinman and vocalist Greg Puciato of THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN joining NINE INCH NAILS on stage this past Saturday (February 28) at the Soundwave Festival in Adelaide, Australia to perform "Wish" can be viewed below.

In a Twitter post, Weinman said, "Amazing experience! So stoked. Trent [Reznor; NIN mainman] has been a huge inspiration to me. I wouldn't be doing this if it wasn't for him so his support has been a huge honor."

THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN originally covered "Wish" for the 2006 release "Plagiarism".

NINE INCH NAILS mainman Trent Reznor recently confirmed that NIN will tour with JANE'S ADDICTION later this year, indicating that he has also been in the studio with the reunited band. In a post at the official NIN web site, Reznor wrote that the team-up was inspired by their first road trip together on the inaugural Lollapalooza festival back in 1991. Reznor said, "These performances essentially created and defined the term 'alternative'rock in the U.S., created an ongoing festival franchise that is still thriving, set the stage for NIRVANA to shift popular taste a few months later, and were really fucking FUN to play and attend — truly the best times I've had."

Reznor hinted that the shows would be NIN's last for the foreseeable future, saying, "It's time to make NIN disappear for a while."

THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN played its first show with new drummer Billy Rymer (of the Long Island, New York-based progressive rock act THE RIVALRY) on February 5 at The Barbary in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN guitarist Ben Weinman told the U.K.'s Rock Sound magazine about the band's latest addition, "He is kind of this secret weapon and we are excited about the fact that he doesn't care about running around promoting himself. He is pretty unknown and got the gig over like thirty ridiculously sick drummers. Some of which are pretty well known. He has very young nipples, though, I must say; makes me jealous."
